That includes LED panels. That includes "simple" light switch swaps. And that especially includes anything involving a smart controller.

Ground is a safety path that carries current only when something goes wrong. Neutral is a working part of the circuit. If you mix them up — or connect them where they shouldn't be connected — you can trip breakers, damage equipment, or create a fire hazard.

For LED grow lights, this matters more than you'd think. LED drivers are sensitive to voltage issues. A misidentified neutral on a light switch can send unstable power to your panel. The panel might work for a day. Or two days. Then it dies. And when it fails, it can take other things with it.

That's the part that scares me now. I didn't just lose a light that week in 2018 — I lost a client's trust in my judgment.

Argument #3: The Upgrade That Changed My Approach
