Spider Farmer started as a small LED engineering team obsessed with one question: why do most grow lights over-promise on spectrum and under-deliver on PPFD uniformity? A decade and 38 patents later, that question still drives every fixture we ship.
We do not chase trend spectrums. We rebuild drivers, thermal paths, and LED binning any time we can move real cultivator outcomes. That is why the SF platform has gone through five silent revisions since 2016 without renaming the SKU.
Every fixture ships from a factory our engineers walk through weekly, and every controller is flashed with firmware our own cultivation team uses in the Delaware test room before a single unit leaves the dock.
Built in Shenzhen, tested in a 2×2 tent. The first commercial SF run followed the next year.
We rebuilt the driver and optics to unlock 2.7 µmol/J on the SF1000D, which set the performance bar the category still measures against.
Eight-bar fixtures brought canopy penetration to indoor commercial rooms that had been stuck with double-ended HPS.
PPFD sensing, humidity, CO2, and dimming converged into a single controller stack the cultivation team commissions per room.
Commercial greenhouse output pushed above 2,000 W per fixture with phased-rollout tooling purpose-built for retrofits.
Our cultivation desk is happy to walk through platform revisions, driver choices, and binning philosophy on a call.
